An entrepreneur for the past 30 years, I began my career on Wall Street in 1982 as a stockbroker and rose through the ranks to become the national sales manager for an independent brokerage firm in 1991. Five years later, I decided to stretch my entrepreneurial legs and start my own brokerage and advisory company which grew to over 250 advisors around the country. In 2004, my partners and I sold that company to a NY private equity firm and started a new venture focused on delivering institutional investment management to trust banks, via a customized technology platform. This new approach to trust account investing quickly became the benchmark for others. After growing that company to over 50 regional bank customers and $11Billion in assets under administration, we successfully exited that business through a sale to the country’s largest publicly traded, independent brokerage firm in 2011.
After taking a short sabbatical (about 6 months of watching my son play high school baseball), I started Upstream Business Consulting, a boutique consulting firm catering to other entrepreneurs and small business owners. In March 2015, I became certified by Brian Tracy International and added the FocalPoint Business Coaching process to my practice.
A graduate of Rutgers Business School, I am a Brian Tracy certified corporate trainer, business & executive coach, a licensed Navigational Conversations program facilitator, and a coaching practice mentor. Today, I work with entrepreneurs in multiple industries and do executive coaching in the financial services arena, public relations, medical billing, and construction. I am also the owner of FocalPoint Business Coaching of New Jersey and I am the NJ Area Developer for FocalPoint International. I remain active in several prominent business associations including the New Jersey Business & Industry Assoc., and I serve on the board of the Monmouth-Ocean Development Council. I am happily married for over 30 years. My wife and I have raised two successful boys and we split time between our homes in New Jersey and North Carolina. I enjoy golf, exercise, Rutgers Athletics, and spending quality time with my family and friends.
